Feeding and Management
SWEETLIX EQUINE PASTURE & HAY
BALANCER-S is a complete protein
supplement block that also delivers essential
minerals and vitamins.
1. Feed 1 block per 5 horses. This allows all
animals equal access to blocks.
2. Place blocks where horses congregate.
Locate blocks throughout pasture, placing
them near water and loafing areas.
Maintain adequate distance between
blocks (10 ft. minimum).
3. Do not allow horses to run out of blocks.
When a block is half-consumed, place a
new block near it. Place small pieces in
troughs or feed pans.
4. Horses will consume an average of 1 to
2.5 lb. per head daily.
5. Blocks can be fed to horses in
confinement. Exact location of blocks to
obtain desired consumption will vary
between confinement feeding programs.
6. Feed as the only FREE CHOICE source of
protein, salt, other minerals and vitamins.
Provide clean, fresh water to all horses at all
times.

Important: During the first week of use, place the
blocks approximately 50 ft. from loafing and
watering areas. As horses become acclimated
to the presence of the blocks, some
repositioning may be necessary to achieve
proper consumption. Move blocks closer to
increase consumption, farther away to decrease
consumption. If overconsumption occurs for
more than two weeks and repositioning of the
blocks does not correct the situation, remove the
blocks and evaluate overall feeding program.
