WHAT IS RED LAKE EARTH DIATOMACEOUS EARTH WITH CALCIUM BENTONITE?

We mine our Red Lake Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite (Red Lake Earth) from a deposit in the pristine province of British Columbia, Canada. Unlike other DE products, both of these sought-after minerals are found in their natural state within this deposit. This natural combination is rare, with only one other known deposit that contains both diatomaceous earth and calcium bentonite in the world.

Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite is a unique, naturally occurring diatomite deposit which contains a natural blend of food grade diatomaceous earth and calcium bentonite, commonly referred to as calcium montmorillonite. This natural blend is one of only two of its kind in the world, and the only one of its kind in North America! Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite ® meets both food and feed grade specifications.

Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite is available in Fine, Powder, Crystal and Granular particle sizes  For most agricultural feed mills Granular is the most prominent particle size used.

Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite  is added at no more than 2% to animal feed, to prevent caking and add to the flowability of the animal feed.

Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite is used thoughout the United States by the Poultry, Dairy, Beef and Pork industries.  Many backyard hobby activists also use Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite  for their chickens and farm animals.

WHAT IS DIATOMACEOUS EARTH?

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is a soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is composed of the fossilized exoskeletons of tiny single-celled, micro-organisms called diatoms. When these organisms died, their skeletal remains settled to the bottom of large bodies of water and became fossilized. It is those fossilized exoskeletons of the diatoms that create DE which is primarily comprised of silicon dioxide (Si02), among other trace elements.

WHAT MAKES OURS DIFFERENT?

Our Red Lake Diatomaceous Earth comes from the pristine province of British Columbia, Canada from a freshwater deposit that contains the Melosira Granulata species of diatom. From the Miocene age, this DE deposit is between 12 to 13 million years old. The area just outside of Vale, Oregon is home to our White Lake Earth DE. This deposit contains the same species of diatom as our Red Lake Earth.  The Melosira Granulata diatoms have an immense number of pores. As a result, this trait provides its strength to absorb. Several of our DE products are on the OMRI list for use in organic production.

When stored in a dry place, Red Lake Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth will not spoil or go bad.
