Alfa-Mate Plus is designed to create a balanced equine diet when alfalfa is the primary forage source. Alfalfa is typically too high in protein and calcium for the equine diet. When added to the diet, Alfa-Mate Plus helps to reduce the daily protein and balance the Ca:Ph ratio. It is also enhanced with pre and probiotics (guaranteed levels of live bacteria) for digestive health, guaranteed levels of vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids and a blend of herbs and botanicals that support digestive, immune and joint health. Designed to be fed with alfalfa hay at a rate of 0.4 - 1.0 lbs per 100 lb of body weight depending upon activity level.
